Busia: Man arrested over alleged defilement of his niece in Funyula

Police in Busia County have arrested a man on suspicion of defilement.

According to Samia OCPD Richard Moracha the suspect, a 44-year-old from Nabutuki village in Funyula Constituency, is accused of defiling his 9-year-old niece.

The child later disclosed what had happened to her at the hands of her uncle who is being held at Sio Port police station.

Moracha stated that the suspect will be brought before Port Victoria Court in Budalang'i Constituency on Monday.

The incident comes just two weeks after the Port Victoria court sentenced a 31-year-old teacher from Funyula Constituency to 25 years in prison for defiling a 14-year-old girl.
