Christmas turns tragic as grade 8 pupil drowns in a swimming pool

According to a police report, the pupil student at Nyamninia Primary School, was at the hotel for a family Christmas treat when the incident occurred.

The pool attendant jumped into the water to rescue him and managed to bring him to the surface.

Despite attempts at resuscitation, the efforts were unsuccessful. Family members promptly rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. 

The body was transferred to the mortuary at Yala sub-county hospital, where a postmortem examination is pending.
