17-year-old girl arrested after boyfriend’s uncle stabbed to death in Buruburu

The deceased, identified as Collins Onyango, was reportedly at his nephew’s residence when an argument broke out between him and a 17-year-old girl. 

According to police reports, the teenager allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Onyango in the neck during the confrontation.

A neighbor who witnessed the incident alerted authorities, and the victim was rushed to Edel Vale Trust Jamaa Mission Hospital in Buruburu. 

However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Officers from the National Police Service visited the scene and recovered the suspected murder weapon.

The scene, as well as the hospital, were processed by detectives. 

Onyango’s body was later transferred to the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem.

The suspect sustained minor injuries after members of the public attempted to lynch her following the incident. 

She was rescued by police, treated at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, and subsequently placed in custody.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Buruburu have taken over the case as investigations continue.
