22-year-old woman kills her two-week old baby in Embu

Police in Runyenjes, Embu County, are holding a 22-year-old woman who is expected to be arraigned on Monday over the alleged murder of her two-week-old baby boy in Magacha area, Kigumo.

The incident was confirmed by Kyeni East Location Senior Chief John Kareko, who said the suspect initially reported that her baby had been stolen by unknown persons at Kigumo Dispensary.

The report prompted local administrators to visit the health facility to verify the claim, but investigations established that the allegation was false.
