28-year-old man kills his two children in Kiharu after a disagreement with his wife

Murang'a police have launched a manhunt for a father of two accused of slitting the throats of his two children, aged 3 and 7, on Sunday night, in an incident that has shocked residents of Ndikwe Mugo wa Nyoni village in Kiharu.
According to a police report obtained by Citizen.Digital, officers dispatched to the scene discovered that a 28-year-old Evans Kang'ethe had killed his two children with a sharp object.
The officers also discovered that the suspect's wife, the mother of the two murdered children, had fled her marital home a week before the incident due to an unspecified marital disagreement.
Even as police gather evidence that could lead to the arrest of the suspect, the motive for the killing remains unknown.
The bodies of the children were moved to Muranga Level 5 Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy.
