Kayole Starlets head coach Mary Adhiambo is backing her side to upset league leaders Trinity Starlets when the two teams meet in a FKF Women’s Premier League clash on Saturday, at Comboni Polytechnic Grounds in Gilgil.

Adhiambo, a Harambee Starlets legend, led Kayole to a vital 2–0 victory over four-time champions Vihiga Queens last weekend at Kasarani Annex. The win lifted Kayole to second place on 16 points—one behind Trinity. Kenya Police Bullets, Ulinzi Starlets and Zetech Sparks round out the top five with 15, 14 and 14 points respectively.

Buoyed by their recent form, Adhiambo says her side is well-prepared for the leaders.

“Trinity are a very tough team. They’ve won almost all their matches, so we had to prepare thoroughly,” she said. “I was concerned about injuries to two key players—Peris Oside and captain Hellen Ochieng, who picked up a knock against Ulinzi—but I’m happy they’re recovering well and could feature.”

Despite their strong start, Adhiambo reiterated that Kayole’s primary target remains a top-five finish.

“Since earning promotion, our goal has been to avoid relegation and secure a top-five spot. That’s what we’re pushing for.”

Elsewhere on Saturday, Bungoma Queens host Kibera Soccer Women at Bungoma Polytechnic Grounds, while Vihiga Queens welcome defending champions Kenya Police Bullets to Moi Stadium, Kisumu.

Two matches are lined up for Sunday: Kisumu All Starlets face Kisped Queens at Moi Stadium, and Gideon Starlets take on Ulinzi Starlets at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay County.
