Ahmed Farah has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the East African Business Council (EABC), following a recruitment process conducted by the Council’s Executive Board.

The announcement was made by the Chairperson of the EABC, Mr. John Lual Akol Akol, who confirmed that Mr. Farah emerged as the top candidate from a competitive pool of applicants. 

The selection process included a comprehensive review of applications, shortlisting, and oral interviews, overseen by the EABC Executive Board Recruitment Committee.

Mr. Farah is a distinguished trade policy expert and former Country Director at the TradeMark East Africa (TMEA). He brings extensive experience in regional integration, donor relations, fundraising, and facilitating public–private dialogue within the complex regulatory environment of the East African Community (EAC).

“I am pleased to welcome Mr. Ahmed Farah as the substantive Executive Director of EABC,” said Hon. Akol. “His exceptional technical expertise and leadership capacity will strengthen EABC’s role in promoting business and regional economic integration across East Africa.”
