The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has banned Kenya’s Brian Limo for five years, effective November 25, 2025, after he tested positive for the prohibited substance salbutamol and was found guilty of tampering, or attempted tampering, with the doping control process.

All his results from April 5, 2025 have been disqualified.

The 22-year-old distance runner enjoyed a breakthrough 2025 season, setting personal bests in the 1500m, mile, 3000m, 5000m (track and short track), 10,000m and half marathon. His highest World Athletics points performance came in the 10,000m, where he ran 28:04 at the Marienlyst Stadion in Drammen, Norway, on April 5.

Limo had been provisionally suspended in November. Also serving doping suspension this year are fellow Kenyans Mathew Samperu and Albert Korir.
