Autopsy reveals 12-year-old girl found murdered in Embakasi was defiled, tortured and strangled

The 12-year-old girl who was found dead in Embakasi was defiled and strangled by her killers before being inflicted with injuries all over her body.
An autopsy report conducted at the city mortuary has also revealed that Patience Mumbe died due to head injuries.
At the Nairobi Funeral Home, formerly City Mortuary her
parents waited anxiously as pathologists concluded a postmortem examination to
establish the cause of their daughter’s death.
Findings released by lead pathologist Grace Midigo revealed that Patience died from head injuries and strangulation, with evidence indicating she had also been sexually assaulted. Multiple injuries all over her body revealed the brutal murder of the 12-year-old girl.
“Niko na uchungu sana kupoteza mtoto…tumepata mtoto
alifanyiwa raping,” her father, Joseph Malonza, stated.
Activist Hussein Khalid added, “Patience was hit on the head
severely. The body had injuries; this is someone not new to this.”
The circumstances surrounding her disappearance continue to
raise more questions than answers.
Patience is reported to have gone missing while playing
outside with friends. CCTV footage captured from several shops in the area
shows her running from her home toward a road leading to the Taj Mall bus
stage.
In a second clip, she is seen walking quickly, at one point glancing back as if checking whether she was being followed, before hurriedly making her way toward the bus stop.
“Akitoka kwa nyumba yeye huwa anaenda kucheza na wenzake…Facebook
niliona kuna mtoto amepatikana wakati tulienda tukapata ni nguo,” her mother
stated.
Investigations into the mysterious death are ongoing, with
detectives who are now in possession of crucial CCTV footage, scrutinising
every detail collected from the scene.
No suspect has been arrested so far, as the grieving parents continue to appeal for swift and thorough investigations.
“Tunataka haki ya mtoto itendeke alikuwa anaenda grade 8
next year tulikuwa tumenunua hadi vitabu,” her father lamented.
Patience’s mother added, “Alipotea wakati alikuwa akicheza na marafiki wake nikamwita nikaambiwa ametorokoka.”
Police in Embakasi have confirmed receiving four cases of
missing children in the last one month.
