Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo died as a result of blunt force trauma, an autopsy report has revealed.

A team of pathologists led by Dr Johansen Oduor said there were multiple severe injuries following fractures in the body during the fateful day.

The group, which included three family doctors, said the impact was so severe compelling Jirongo's instant death.

The team revealed that legs, ribs, and the spine were affected, including heavy bleeding into the abdominal and chest cavity.

The three doctors concurred in their findings, adding that samples have been taken for toxicological studies to provide deep insight into the death.

The veteran politician was involved in a deadly accident on Saturday in Naivasha.

The burial has been slated for the 30th of this month in Lumakanda, Kakamega County.
