Club CEO Tony Kibwana has confirmed that Bandari are targeting between three and four new signings, with a major focus on boosting their attacking options after a slow start in front of goal.
The coastal side has managed just 10 goals in 14 league matches, a return that has left them languishing in mid-table despite a relatively solid defensive record.
“We are strengthening areas where we have not been doing great, especially our striking force,” Kibwana revealed, adding that talks with potential signings are already underway.
As new faces arrive, exits are also expected, with up to five players set to leave the club following the expiry of their contracts. Kibwana noted that while some contracts have been renewed, others are being evaluated as the club reshapes its squad for the second half of the season.
Off the pitch, coaching speculation continues to swirl around the club. Former Bandari boss Bernard Mwalala—currently at Shabana FC—has been linked with a return, having previously guided the Dockers to their historic Shield Cup triumph in 2019. However, the club has opted for caution.
“For now, we will appoint an interim coach before settling on a permanent head coach. We want to get the right person for the job,” Kibwana said.
Bandari FC currently sit 12th on the KPL standings with 17 points and will return to training on January 2.
Their focus now shifts to a crucial home fixture against Kakamega Homeboyz on January 10.
