Former Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi is the new Member of Parliament for Dagoretti North constituency.
She won the seat after securing 52,515 votes beating her closest competitor Elijah Oenga who got 13,620 votes.
Elachi, who was contesting under an ODM ticket, was awarded her clearance certificate by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Friday
Oenga on the other hand was contesting as an independent candidate.
She vowed to serve Dagoretti North residents with priority in her 5-year stay in office, thanking them for electing her into the seat.
Elachi replaces replaces Simba Arati who shifted interest to the Kisii county governorship seat.
