In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company said a document, which has been shared on social media and messaging platforms, falsely purports to be an official communication from Bolt Kenya announcing a market exit effective June 8, 2026.
Bolt said the document did not originate from the company or any of its authorized representatives and described it as a fabrication intended to mislead the public.
"We wish to categorically state that this document is fake," the company said, adding that it remains committed to serving its customers and driver-partners in Kenya.
"We urge all driver-partners, customers, and members of the public to disregard the circulating document in its entirety, refrain from sharing or amplifying this misinformation, and rely solely on official communications from Bolt Kenya through our verified channels, including our official website, verified social media accounts, and the Bolt app."
The company noted that it has launched investigations to establish the source of the fraudulent communication and warned that action would be taken against individuals involved in creating and disseminating false information that misrepresents the firm.
