A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of her husband during a confrontation at a nightclub in Kapkwen trading centre, Bomet County.

According to Bomet County Police Commandant Edward Ibwaga, the suspect, identified as Sharon Cherotich, allegedly broke a beer bottle and used the sharp edge to stab her husband, 36, in the neck.

The victim reportedly bled heavily and died while being rushed to Tenwek Hospital.

Police say the motive behind the couple’s dispute remains unclear.

Witnesses told investigators that the two had been drinking together before a heated argument escalated into violence.

A bar attendant, Faith Chepngetich—popularly known as Tetio—said chaos broke out shortly after the incident, with some patrons attempting to confront the suspect. Cherotich is said to have fled the scene immediately after the stabbing.

Following investigations, officers tracked down and arrested the suspect at a hideout.

The crime scene was processed, and several patrons recorded statements to aid the inquiry.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the Tenwek Hospital mortuary as police continue their investigation.
