Businessman Samuel Brian Yongo Otumba has been detained for five days to allow police conclude investigations into a cyber harassment case. 

Yongo was arraigned before magistrate Dolphina Alego on Monday, for allegations of cyber harassment. 

The court directed that he be detained at Parklands police station for five days.

Further Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Alego directed police to record statements from the complainant Rajendra Shanghani, who is the Managing Director of Granada Trading Company Limited.

Court was told that police are investigating a computer misuse and cybercrime case against Yongo, adding that a report was filed at Parklands Police Station by Shanghani claiming that he had been harassed and threatened by the accused. 

Court was told that Yongo informed Shanghani that they were planning to tarnish his name as he was appointed by Malongo to look in to his accounts and deal with the matter accordingly.

"Yongo continued on abusing Shanghani swearing in his mother's name saying that he would teach him a lesson," said the investigating officer.

The matter will be mentioned on Friday, April 26, 2024.
