Residents of Nkorongo Igambangombe in Tharaka Nithi County have expressed concern over the devastating impact of illicit brew on their community and families.
They lament that authorities are unable to combat the illegal trade effectively, and have accused some unnamed officials of being involved in drunkenness themselves.
Area Chief John Kabete acknowledged that authorities are actively working on the ground to fight illicit brew.
However, the residents are now appealing to County Commissioner David Gitonga to intervene and provide stronger support in the ongoing battle against the illegal alcohol trade.
