The third leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation Men's National League returned to Kasarani Indoor Arena on Thursday, with Chema continuing their impressive debut campaign by securing a convincing straight set victory over Eldowas (25-13, 25-23, 25-21).

The newcomers dominated from the opening set, controlling rallies with sharp serving, disciplined blocking and efficient attacking to overwhelm their fellow debutants.

Reception errors proved particularly costly for Eldowas, who struggled to mount a consistent challenge despite showing brief resistance in the second and third sets.

Chema head coach Jeremiah Mukopi was pleased with the performance and set clear ambitions for the rest of the league phase.

"We are looking to finish at the top, probably top two or three so that the playoffs will be easier for us," Mukopi said.

"We know we still have some other matches to play but from what I've just seen today, I know players are ready to play every match well and they'll give good results."

Eldowas coach Mathias Kosgey identified reception and confidence issues as the main areas requiring immediate attention.

"The mistakes my team has done the most was receptions. We started the league well but now we are headed to a bad place," Kosgey admitted.

"When we came teams knew Eldowas were an organised team, so everyone was going to prepare for our team. Going forward we have to be more organised, and our boys should have confidence to deal with blocks from Chema. For the next matches we have to fight to reach the round of 8."

Chema now prepare to face Nairobi Prisons in their next outing, while Eldowas will look to regroup against KAPU.

In the day's other third-leg action at Kasarani Indoor Arena, Equity Bank defeated Prisons Western 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-20), Trailblazers beat Prisons Nairobi 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-22), and NYS edged APK 3-2 in a thrilling five-set contest (23-25, 23-25, 25-21, 27-25, 17-19).

The results set an intense tone for the third leg, with Chema emerging as one of the early standouts and the battle for playoff positions and top seeding already heating up at Kasarani Indoor Arena.
