Coach Paul Odera has parted ways with the national 15s rugby team, Simbas, the Kenya Rugby Union has announced.

Odera’s resignation comes a month after leading Kenya Simbas to the 2022 Rugby Africa Cup quarterfinals at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Kenya Simba are scheduled to face neighbour’s Uganda in the quarterfinals with a possibility of meeting Senegal if they beat the former.

The fixture will double up as the final round of the qualifiers with the winner set to debut at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Odera who has had coaching stints with the Kenya under-19 squad was appointed head coach of the senior team in 2019.

Odera’s task was to guide Simba’s to the France 2023 World Cup replacing New Zealander Ian Snook.

The Union however didn’t give details as to why the two parties have parted ways

However Citizen Digital has established the embattled coach is set to join Impala Saracen’s technical bench as they prepare to face Mwamba this weekend in a Kenya Cup fixture.
