Lamu County Deputy Governor Eric Mugo said that the budget allocated to Lamu County is not enough to cover the compensation of the attack victims as well as carry out development projects.

Mugo also asked organisations that had pledged to support the victims restart their lives to do so.
“The government and other non-profit organisations had promised to help the victims get back to their feet by supporting them and building houses for those whose houses were torched in the attacks,” he said.
The deputy governor further urged the government to maintain police presence in the region so us to ensure security.
“The government should maintain police presence in the entire Lamu County and ensure officers are well equipped to deal with and terrorist attacks,” he noted.
