Diamond Platnumz, Rayvanny top YouTube viewership in East Africa

Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has been ranked as the most viewed artist on YouTube in East Africa, 2021.

The report released by the digital platform revealed that the Tanzanian artist is also the third most viewed artist in Africa.

The ‘Waah’ hitmaker, who is not new to breaking records in the African music industry, managed to garner 452 million YouTube views in 2021.

Following as the number two artist in East Africa is fellow Tanzanian singer and his signee Rayvanny who got 266 million views.

The most viewed artist in Africa in 2021 was Nigerian star CKay, who accumulated a total of 1.1 billion views on the digital streaming platform.

He is followed by another Nigerian singer, Wizkid, who garnered 576 million views, with Diamond Platnumz in third place.

Burna Boy came fourth with 413 million views, then Davido (367 million), Fally Ipupa (331 million), and Rayvanny (266 million).

Nigerian singer Fireboy, known for hit song ‘Peru’, came in eighth place with 247 million views, followed by Mr. Flavour (211 million views), with Omah Lay closing out the top ten with 209 million views).

African female artists and Kenyan artists were visibly absent from the list.
