Driver killed in road accident in Lamu County

The man was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mpeketoni Hospital.

Police said three others are undergoing treatment following the incident along the Lamu-Witu-Garsen road.

The deceased, identified as Alwy Shee Bakari, was the driver of the ill-fated vehicle.

His death sent a sombre mood sweeping across Amu Island, as he was popular with locals in Mkunguni.

The injured were taken to Mpeketoni Hospital as the burial of the deceased is set to take place on Friday in Amu.
