Embu businessman treats thousands of residents to Christmas feasting at the Moi Stadium

Embu's Moi Stadium was a beehive of activity as thousands of local residents flocked the venue for a specialised Christmas bonanza organized by one of the area's most renowned business personalities.

Staying true to his promise, businessman Kenjava Mwaniki, popularly known as 'Wakagoto', organised an extended Christmas party that saw Embu residents enjoy nyama choma, chapati, rice, and more culinary items at the stadium in a festive exercise that kicked off at around midday and lasted until late in the evening.

Locals drawn from Dallas, Majengo, Majimbo, Karurina, Blue Valley, Kamiu and more areas thronged the stadium to share in the Christmas joy organised by the renowned business guru.

Speaking at the event, local resident Robert Muchangi expressed his excitement at being at the event, thanking Kenjava and his partners for actualizing the promise and spreading the cheer to the less fortunate.

"Tumefurai sana kwa hii intitaive. At least, watu wamekutana, wamekula na pia wame enjoy juu ni msimu wa Christmas. Watu wengi sana this year wamesukumwa sana na ukosefu wa pesa, na kuweza kufurahisha familia zako imekuwa ngumu sana. Tunashukuru sana na watu wamefurai sana!" he said.

Besides the feasting, over 2000 women drawn from the gathering also carried home a 2KG packet of unga each, wheat flour and a 2 litre jar of cooking oil too all courtesy of the businessman.

After cutting his teeth in the streets of Embu, initially selling music CDs before branching into tomato growing, Kenjava Mwaniki has seen exponential growth, rising up the business ranks to the point where he now employs over 500 locals at his stone crusher in Embu town and Ishiara.

Actively involved in helping the less fortunate through his 'Toa Jam' initiative, which has grown to be a household mantra across Embu and beyond, the businessman and philanthropist has continued to endear himself to the local populace, getting actively involved in all local enterprises and also rising to be appointed the patron of the Boda Boda association, Embu chapter.

While expressing his gratitude to his colleagues and friends for the support in the public Christmas treat, Kenjava described the event as a 'practical demonstration of kutoleana jam', thanking the volunteers for the support. 

"Supported by family, friends, colleagues from The Eagle Group and a committee of experts and Volunteers, we hosted a 𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 for Embu residents at the 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝘂 𝗠𝗼𝗶 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺 today. The event marked a practical demonstration of Kutoleana Jam," he wrote.
