Ex-police officer jailed for 15 years over 2020 Majengo murder

The deceased, who was 24 years old then, was shot three times by the Shauri Moyo-based officer after a confrontation in Majengo that was captured on video and widely circulated on social media. 

Majid was said to have been enquiring from the police officer why he had arrested a man for allegedly possessing bhang.

His death led to riots in Majengo with residents demanding justice for him and his family. 

Justice Daniel Ogembo sentenced Mwongela after finding him guilty in January this year.
