Expect quality competition, Tong IL Moo Do boss Mwakio says ahead of tourney

Preparations are
in top gear as Mombasa readies to host the 12th edition of the Tong IL Moo Do
tournament. Over 50 countries are expected to attend the tournament that was
last held in 2022.
In the meantime,
the federation president Master Clarence Mwakio has promised to deliver a master
class tournament, which is set to return to Kenya for the time in 20 months.
“We are happy
that the tournament is here, and we are going to host it, I know how the fans
have been waiting for this moment because it has been long since we hosted it,
we are putting final preparations as we are expecting more the 50 countries to
arrive for the games and I know we have what it takes to host a successful tournament,”
said Mwakio.
Kwale County
recently successfully hosted the Africa Cycling competition that was taking
place in the country for the second time attracting over 300 cyclist across the
continent and with championship being a world champion, Master Clarence called
for support from different sponsor to ensure they are able to deliver a great
tournament that will market the country across the world.
“It is not easy
to host over 50 countries it is something that requires a lot of money to make
it successful that is why we are asking for more sponsors to come on board and
support the event to make it a great success,” added Mwakio
Mwakio went on
to thank the cabinet secretary for the Ministry of Sports Salim Mvurya for his
intervention to the world Tong ill Mo Doo to once again give Kenya an
opportunity to host the tournament having failed to do that last year.
“The cabinet
secretary has been so supportive to us, his intervention has been amazing and
that is why we have been able to host this year edition and that is something
we are proud of him,” stated Mwakio.
The tournament will run from December 10 -23 at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa.
