A family in Kirinyaga County is appealing for help in locating their 14-year-old daughter who went missing in December last year.

According to the girl's mother, Cecily Wandia, her daughter, Linah Wanyaga, disappeared on December 12, 2025, leaving the family in deep distress. Wandia has since been tirelessly searching for her daughter, visiting police stations, mortuaries, and canvassing villages and towns, but her efforts have so far yielded no leads.

"As a single mother, I've been asking everyone about my daughter's whereabouts, but no one seems to have any information," Wandia said, breaking down in tears at her compound in Kaitheri village, Kerugoya.

Linah, who had just completed her Grade 9 examinations at Kirigo Primary School, was preparing to join Kiangai Secondary School.

"I had bought all the necessary items, except for a mattress. She worked so hard in her exams. Where is she now? I can only see her clothes," Wandia lamented.

The family said Linah was last seen at Mikinduri shopping centre, about two kilometres from Kerugoya town. "Could it be that my daughter was abducted? Or is someone hiding her? God help me find her. If you're alive, my daughter, please come home. I'm suffering," Wandia pleaded.
