The journey began at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, with Omondi ready to tackle the grueling trek aptly dubbed the “Walk of Love.”
High-profile figures joined the launch, turning it into a star-studded send-off.
Rapper Khaligraph Jones was among the first to show up, walking alongside Omondi and hyping the crowd with his signature energy.
Veteran comedian and Omondi's mentor Mwalimu Churchill also made an appearance, handing over a symbolic button to socialite Amber Ray while symbolizing unity for the unprecedented initiative.
Media personality Jeff Koinange also made an appearance, offering words of encouragement and pledging his support.
Other notable personalities, including radio personality Carol Radull and Gospel luminary Daddy Owen, have committed to joining segments of the walk and boosting visibility through their platforms.
The four-day walk isn’t just a physical challenge it’s a mission under Omondi’s flagship Sisi Kwa Sisi campaign.
The comedic genius is undertaking the walk to raise funds for building a permanent Sisi Kwa Sisi Help & Rescue Centre, a one-stop facility dedicated to supporting vulnerable Kenyans.
The centre will feature emergency medical services, a fully equipped clinic, ambulances for rapid response, a warehouse for storing donations, and even a free secondary school to empower underprivileged youth.
As a passionate advocate for community resilience, he has long championed grassroots solutions to Kenya’s social issues. “I’ve seen too many Kenyans suffer without help in medical emergencies, lack of education, basic needs unmet,” he said before starting the walk.
Beyond fundraising, Omondi aims to mobilize national awareness and inspire collective action.
The goal is to collect millions through public donations to make the rescue centre a reality, ultimately providing life-saving support to millions of Kenyans.
Omondi plans to cover the distance over four days, walking from 6am to 6pm daily, with the finale at Mama Ngina Waterfront Park in Mombasa on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
