Five people killed in road accident at Mariakani while leaving funeral

Five people were killed and five others injured after a hearse collided head-on with a trailer at Mariakani on the Kilifi-Mombasa highway on Thursday.
Confirming the incident, Kaloleni Sub-county Police Commander Ezekiel Chepkwony said the hearse was ferrying mourners from a funeral in Kitui while the trailer was heading in the opposite direction towards Mariakani.
Two people are reported to have died at the scene of the accident while three others succumbed to injuries at the Mariakani hospital.
The injured were admitted to the Mariakani hospital.
