Nairobi United will be without
midfielder Michael Karamor after he sustained an injury ahead of their midweek
FKF Premier League clash against APS Bomet.
Head coach Godfrey Oduor, popularly
known as Solo, says the FKF Cup champions are eager to bounce back following a
disappointing CAF Confederation Cup outing, where they suffered an away defeat
to Tanzania’s Azam FC on Sunday.
Oduor admitted the tight schedule
has been a challenge but remains optimistic about his squad’s response.
“This is why we compete at this
level. We have no option but to prepare the boys, help them recover, and
motivate them to be lively in the next match, despite the limited time between
the previous game, travel, and the upcoming fixture,” said Oduor.
Nairobi United have endured a tough
continental campaign, scoring just once and conceding seven goals in four Group
B matches in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The team has since returned to the
country and turned its attention back to domestic action, as they host APS
Bomet today at 3pm at Nyayo National Stadium.
Nairobi United currently sit 10th on the league standings with 25 points, 15 adrift of leaders Gor Mahia.
APS
Bomet, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone in 17th place with 15 points
and are still searching for their first win of the year.
