Form Three girl suspected to be in love with cousin found dead

The body of a 17-year-old Form Three student, who went missing from her parents’ Makueni home on New Year’s Eve, was on Wednesday found dead in a rental house at Poka Village located on the boundary of Makueni and Kajiado counties.

According to the teenager’s family, they were shocked to be informed by Poka Village residents that the girl had been putting up in a house rented by a man in his early twenties.

The teenager’s kin later learnt that the said man was her cousin, who would regularly visit the girl’s parents in Makueni.

“Neighbours suspected they were dating, given their behaviour in public,” said one of the girl’s kinsmen.

The girl’s cousin is suspected to have fatally struck her in the head using a blunt object, neighbours alleged.

Police say he escaped from scene of crime, and that he is yet to be apprehended.

The girl’s body was moved to Makindu District Hospital mortuary.

The now-deceased was a student at Serena Williams Wee Secondary School.
