After a long and patient wait, Kenyan football prodigy Amos Wanjala is finally set to complete a dream move to La Liga side Valencia CF, marking a major milestone for both his career and Kenyan football.
Wanjala, who hails from Makande, Mombasa, is currently
finalising the deal, with the official announcement expected next week
following his medical and formal unveiling.
Confirming the development, Kenyan football agent David
Kenga expressed joy and pride at seeing months of hard work pay off.
“It’s been a long time waiting, but eventually our boy Amos
Wanjala is finalising his deal to join Valencia. This is a very big step in his
career. Our team worked day and night to make sure this deal goes through so
that he can progress.
“It’s a big moment for Kenya, for Amos, his family, and for
us as his representatives. We wish him all the best and continue praying that,
God willing, we’ll soon see him playing in La Liga with the first team,” said
Kenga.
Back in September 2025, Wanjala had been strongly linked
with a move to Spanish Segunda División side UD Almería, with plans for a
January 2026 transfer window switch.
The Kenya U20 national team captain began his spell in
Europe at Nastic Academy, where his talent quickly stood out. Within six
months, he earned a professional contract with Athletic Club Torrellano CF. In
2025, he also trained extensively with Elche CF, but contractual disagreements
prevented a permanent deal.
With the Valencia transfer now imminent, Wanjala joins a
growing list of Kenyan players making waves abroad. Alongside Kibet at Celta
Vigo, other notable prospects include Alvin Kasavuli at Nastic Academy and Luis
Ingavi, a Montverde Academy graduate currently playing semi-professionally in
Michigan ahead of university enrollment.
Amos Wanjala’s expected move to Valencia CF is more than
just a personal achievement, it is a powerful statement of Kenya’s emerging
football talent on the global stage.
