Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has confirmed that there will be more incomings at K’Ogalo after the signing of Jackson Dwang from Posta Rangers.

Rachier says they have instructed head coach Charles Akonnor to identify the areas which need reinforcement and act immediately.

“We are still looking at reinforcements in different departments. We have instructed the coach to identify areas that need to be strengthened and we will follow his advice when making those signings,” Rachier told Citizen Digital.

Rachier has also opened up on departed attacking midfielder Austin Odhiambo, amid reports Dwang is his direct replacement.

Dwang’s signature was completed and announced by the club on Wednesday after Odhiambo had completed his move to Lebanese giants Nejmeh FC.

Rachier says the former Posta Rangers man has just come to reinforce their midfield rather than directly replacing their star midfielder as people opine.

“I wouldn’t say Dwang is Austin’s direct replacement. We were just looking to strengthen our midfield and we saw Dwang as fit to add something in that department. We are looking to further strengthen the creative department.”

Rachier has also backed coach Akonnor to deliver the title despite constant criticism from a section of fans who feel the team is blowing ‘hot and cold.’

“We have a lot of confidence in the coach and we totally back him. Ignore people who normally feel the coach should just be sacked after a defeat or two. Football doesn’t operate that way,” said Rachier.

Gor Mahia are currently second on the log 26 points, a point behind table toppers AFC Leopards.
