Isiolo Governor Mohamed Kuti has dropped his re-election bid in the upcoming August General Election due to what he termed as health reasons.
Speaking on Saturday during a meeting with Sakuye community elders, Dr. Kuti also announced his official retirement from active politics.
He further endorsed Nairobi County Assembly Majority Leader Abdi Guyo for the seat.
Governor Kuti had served in various positions for over 20 years.
Guyo, on the other hand, has served for 15 years as Kayole's Matopeni/Spring Valley MCA for 15 years and was initially seeking the Embakasi Central MP seat.
He will vie for the Isiolo gubernatorial seat on a Jubilee party ticket.
