Trans Nzoia County Governor George Natembeya has joked about people comparing him with former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.

In a short clip shared on his social media account, Natembeya said people claim he looks like the Senegal international, who currently plays for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.

Natembeya who also spots a new hairstyle that looks like Mane's, said he did not copy the footballer, and that "it's Mane who should emulate him because he is younger."

"I have never thought about his hairstyle. Kawaida yangu nikienda kushave it's my barber who decides on my hairstyle. Sometimes he says let's go with this one or the other one," Natembeya said.

"I cannot role model myself around Mane. He is the one who should take me as his role model because he is younger than me," Natembeya added amid laughter.

On being his lookalike, he said that in this world you will always find someone who looks like you.

"I am told in this world there is someone who looks exactly like you. So that happens. I don't play football though, I am just a commando," Natembeya joked.

The first-time governor was a security officer in charge of the Rift Valley region, where his popularity grew with his heavy punchlines and controversial remarks about banditry and other security matters in the Rift Valley region.

He resigned and went for the gubernatorial seat, which he clinched at his first time of asking in the 2022 general election.
