Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo is once again facing mounting political pressure after Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) initiated a fresh bid to remove him from office.
In a special sitting convened by the Assembly, a new impeachment motion was formally introduced.
The motion, sponsored by Bonyamatuta Ward MCA Julius Kimwomi Matwere, urges the House to deliberate on allegations of gross violation of the Constitution and abuse of office.
This renewed push to oust the governor comes at a time when he is under heightened scrutiny following a corruption probe linked to a Ksh382 million tender.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) recently conducted raids on his residences and county offices as part of the ongoing investigation.
