Kenya Police revived their hopes of finishing in a respectable position this season in the Kenyan Premier League after edging KCB FC 2-1 at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday.
Police started the game in full confidence, grabbing the lead in the 13th minute. The KCB keeper failed to claim Hernest Malonga's header with Yves Kouitama capitalising on the rebound to put the reigning champions ahead.
Following their opener the hosts would continue knocking on the door with Erick Zakayo missing a glorious chance in the 25th minute following a through pass from skipper Abud Omar.
Ten minutes later Kenya Police would get their second goal with Jacques Bowamba finishing expertly following a superb Erik Zakayo delivery from a corner kick. The Enforcers look set to carry a comfortable 2-0 lead into the break.
However right at the end if first half stoppage time Richard Omondi pulled one back for the visitors, cutting Kenya Police's lead in half and effectively giving KCB a life line in the second half.
The first 15 minutes of the second half saw Kenya Police control the pace of the game as they looked to see out the result.
With little being offered in the way of attack by KCB Kenya Police would be successful controlling the second half as they walked away with three valuable points against KCB at the Police Sacco Stadium.
With that positive result Kenya Police now sit fourth on 40 points, level with Shabana while KCB remain eighth on 34 points in the league standings after their defeat.
