The legislator claims that he had the blessing of the late Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga to form parallel political outfits.
He referred to the Kenya Moja outfit, which was made up of a number of parliamentarians opposed to President William Ruto’s ruling party.
“I founded Linda Mwananchi in the sense that I brought all these new figures, so to speak. By the way, Baba Raila Odinga, before he died, gave me permission to form what you called Kenya Moja,” Amisi told Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange on Sunday.
This was after questioning on his decision to abandon Edwin Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi and form his own political outfit.
According to the MP, unnamed persons in ODM know of Raila’s nod to create the parallel political outfits.
Amisi officially launched PM party in August 2026, seeking to position himself as a key player in the 2027 general election.
The party, he said, would champion economic liberation, justice and a renaissance for Kenyans.
It is also intended to mobilise Kenyans around an economic agenda while positioning itself to form the next government.
While PM hits the road in 2027 alignments, Linda Mwananchi continues to struggle with party registration.
A stalemate at the Registrar of Political Parties has left the Sifuna-led movement in oblivion, unsure whether its name would be recognised come the 2027 elections.
