On Saturday morning, President Uhuru Kenyatta held a meeting with over five thousand delegates at the Sagana State Lodge.

They were drawn from the 10 counties that constitute the vote-rich central Kenya region

The meeting marked the President’s second day of his 4-day tour of his backyard.

Delegates mingled as traders and hawkers displayed BBI-themed merchandise.

Most notable were BBI-themed cowboy hats otherwise known in the region  as “God Father” hats.

The Saturday meeting comes amid simmering political disquiet in the region over the BBI and the 2022 succession race.

The delegates were taken through the BBI Bill and the benefits that Kenyans stand to gain if the report sails through.

On Friday, Uhuru arrived at the Sagana State Lodge for his four-day tour of the region.

He held a meeting with County Assembly MCAs from the region who vowed to pass the bill when it gets to their respective assemblies.
