A warder at the Mwea Prison in Kirinyaga County was on Monday promoted from the rank of constable to corporal after impressing Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki with his skillful spoken word performance.

Kindiki was on a visit to Mwea Prison and as he was meeting the warders, the bold officer asked to present something to him, and the CS agreed.

The officer went ahead to perform the poetry where he highlighted the plight of security officers as the Interior CS and his entourage listened keenly.

Amazed by the officer's skills, the CS immediately had the officer promoted and even bestowed on him a badge of honor.

Here is a part of the spoken word:

"Give me the support niweze kuhudumu. Show me some love coz pia mimi niko na life na majukumu. Mengine tumuachie maulana ndiye mwenye hukumu. Una bahati huwa unatetewa na human rights. Ikifika kwa rights zangu sijui mbona huwa wanaleft. Mimi sio human or i'm i not worth it? Story ya binadamu kuuma doggy inakuwa headline lakini hakuna blogger anaandika ata nikuawa... watasema I'm lying. Nimechoka. I'm human, msiniite beast."
