Joseph Siror appointed new Kenya Power MD

Dr.
(Eng.) Joseph Siror has been appointed the Managing Director and Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of Kenya Power.
Eng. Siror,
who has been appointed on a three-year term, takes over from Eng. Geoffrey Muli
who has led the company in an acting capacity since May 2022.
Prior
to his appointment, Eng. Siror was KETRACO's General Manager for System
Operations.
In a
statement to newsrooms announcing the appointment, Kenya Power Board Chair Joy
Brenda Masinde noted that the company’s new boss brings onboard a wealth of
experience and expertise having worked for over 30 years in different business
sectors.
"Dr.
Siror is highly qualified and well respected in his field and the Board looks
forward to working with him in meeting the company's corporate goals. The Board
takes this opportunity to congratulate him on his appointment," said
Masinde.
"His
time in the public sector as well as his training and knowledge will help
provide Kenya Power with a fresh start and build on the past success to deliver
an exciting new strategic direction for the Company."
In his
long career, Eng. Siror has held senior positions at the National Economic and
Social Council, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Kenya Posts and
Telecommunications Corporations as well as Firestone East Africa Limited.
Besides
holding a PhD in Engineering from China's Shanghai Jiatong University, Eng. Siror
also boasts of having a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the
University of Nairobi and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of
London.
He is
also a holder of a pre-Kenya School of Law from Riara University and a
postgraduate certificate in Applied Radiation Protection from the University of
Nairobi.
"Dr.
Siror is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer
(ICEE) and a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer with the Engineers Board
of Kenya. He is also a Corporate Member of the Instuitute of Engineers in
Kenya," said Masinde.
