Junet, who spoke in Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County, during a fundraising drive for the Muslim Cultural and Resource Centre, said ODM’s “zoning” arrangement would remain in place, insisting the party’s strongholds should not be interfered with.
Council of Governors chairperson Ahmed Abdullahi also issued a warning to what he termed party rebels, saying their intentions were known even before the death of party leader Raila Odinga.
Homa Bay Governor and ODM national chairperson Gladys Wanga echoed the message, cautioning Gachagua against engaging in ODM politics and urging young people to stand up for the party.
Wanga said ODM would hold nationwide youth conventions to gather views and ensure young people’s voices are included in decision-making.
