The result, built on the Starlets’ 2–1 win in the first leg
in Windhoek last week, sealed a convincing 7–1 aggregate victory.
Starlets controlled the match for the start but Namibia
defence was strong to break.
Namibia shot stopper Sylvia Tunga produced a series of
impressive saves to deny several early chances from Kenya and keep the contest
level.
Mwanakombo Bajari had an opportunity to score the first goal
for Starlets in the 5th minute but her shit went wide
Namibia goal poacher Nancy Biepelo was left one on one with
Namibia in the 84th minute keeper but her shot was well cleared by Kenya keeper
Mishael Okoyo.
Starlets will next meet either Zimbabwe or Uganda in the
second round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, as Uganda dominated there
first leg with a 2-0 win in Harare thanks to Immaculate Acen and Lydiah
Nameseruka goals.
