Kenya Under 17 national women’s football team, Junior Starlets qualified for the second round of the FIFA U17 women’s World Cup qualifiers after beating Namibia 5-0 at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

Brenda Achieng, scored a hattrick as Emily Adhiambo and substitute Elizabeth Opiyo completed the scoreline.

The result, built on the Starlets’ 2–1 win in the first leg in Windhoek last week, sealed a convincing 7–1 aggregate victory.

Starlets controlled the match for the start but Namibia defence was strong to break.

Namibia shot stopper Sylvia Tunga produced a series of impressive saves to deny several early chances from Kenya and keep the contest level.

Mwanakombo Bajari had an opportunity to score the first goal for Starlets in the 5th minute but her shit went wide

Namibia goal poacher Nancy Biepelo was left one on one with Namibia in the 84th minute keeper but her shot was well cleared by Kenya keeper Mishael Okoyo.

Starlets will next meet either Zimbabwe or Uganda in the second round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, as Uganda dominated there first leg with a 2-0 win in Harare thanks to Immaculate Acen and Lydiah Nameseruka goals.
