Kabras sink Kenya Harlequins to win Prinsloo Sevens

They started brightly, Jone Kubu intercepting Dave Mwaura’s pass to play in Bryceson Adaka for the game’s opening try.
Quins grew in confidence, stifling Kabras and gaining ground but were let down by an unforced error after Cornelius Mokoro had left his markers for dead.
Kabras went into the break with the 5-0 lead.
Kubu then sliced through the Quins defense, touching down as Kabras went 10-0 up and had to survive sustained pressure from their opponents.
Lucky Dewald, on as a replacement for the injured Mokoro, attacked from the breakdown, scoring for Quins who went in pursuit of the match winner, all in vain as Kabras made it two wins from three cup final appearances this season.
3rd place playoff
KCB claimed third place with a win over outgoing champions Menengai Oilers.
The bankers scored their tries through Geoffrey Okwatch, Samuel Asati, Festus Shiasi and Elvis Olukusi with Brian Wahinya adding one conversion.
Oilers tries came from John Okoth and Denis Abukuse with Geoffrey Ominde adding a conversion.
5th place final
Tony Omondi’s penalty in sudden death saw Mwamba defeat Strathmore Leos 22-19 to claim fifth place.
The two sides were tied 19-19 at the close of regulation time, Mwamba scoring their points through Steve Sikuta who landed twice and Tony Omondi who also chimed in with two conversions.
Challenge Trophy
Masinde Muliro claimed ninth place and the Challenge Trophy with a 15-12 victory over Daystar Falcons. Paywick Munoko scored two tries with Mugandi Musa adding one for Masinde Muliro. Augustine Owino and Floyd Wabwire scored Daystar’s tries with Clinton Kioko adding a conversion.
13th place final
Kisumu claimed 13th place with a 41-5 win over Western Bulls.
Aggrey Kitoi scored three tries with John Ochar and Elvince Odhiambo landing two tries each. Israel Makokha kicked over two conversions with Walter Ambe adding one. Western Bulls scored a late consolation try.
