Kakamega: Man struck to death by lightning in Mumias East

One person has died after he was struck by lightning in Mumias East, Kakamega County.
The middle-aged man was at his home in Eshilarumwa area when tragedy struck.
Further reports indicate that the incident happened at around 7:30 pm.
Rashid Ondewa’s family led by Tahiri Omumasaba said their kin was standing next to his kitchen at the time.
Efforts to rush him to a hospital in Shianda were futile as he was pronounced dead on arrival.
“He has left a huge gap in our family. Rashid was an instrumental person in the family,” Omumasaba added.
Traders at Shianda market where the deceased used to work remembered the deceased as a diligent businessman.
