Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Wednesday held a meeting with The New Democrats (TND) deputy party leader Jimmy Kibaki in Karen, Nairobi.

The two leaders are said to have discussed several issues among them strengthening their strong personal and political working relationship ahead of the upcoming elections.

"Earlier today, I met with Jimmy Kibaki & committed to strengthening our already strong personal & political relationship," Kalonzo said in a tweet.

"We also discussed the forthcoming August General Election 2022. We committed to working together & ensuring that Kenya remains stable, peaceful & prosperous."

On his part, Retired President Mwai Kibaki's son Jimmy stated that he has always admired Kalonzo's moderate political style and strong Christian-based values, as well as the sincere support he gave to President Mwai Kibaki as his Vice-President.

The two have been urging their supporters to ensure there is peace in the forthcoming August polls.

Earlier this month Kalonzo had hinted at working with Jimmy Kibaki under the One Kenya Alliance which has since joined the Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja movement.
