Kayole Starlets head into their FKF Women’s Premier League clash against Gideon Starlets tomorrow with renewed belief, quiet determination, and a shared desire to change their recent story.
After a challenging run of results, the Nairobi based side
is leaning on unity, hard work, and lessons learned to spark a turnaround.
The Starlets have gone four matches without a win, a stretch
that has tested both confidence and character. Assistant coach Esther Mazira
admits the period has been difficult, but insists the mood in camp remains
focused and hopeful.
"It has not been a good run for us because we did not
manage to get maximum points in our previous four matches." Mazira said.
"But we have continued to put in the work to find the
right tune and go back to winning ways."
Kayole Starlets currently sit eighth on the league table
with 16 points from 12 matches, a position that still leaves room for a strong
push as the season progresses. Training sessions this week have been intense
and reflective, with the technical bench reviewing recent performances and
making targeted adjustments.
According to Mazira, the team has placed emphasis on
refining tactical structures while honestly addressing areas that fell short.
"In this league, every team is capable, so our full
focus is on the next match, which is Gideon Starlets," she noted.
A major area of focus has been defensive organization,
following recent losses to Trinity Starlets, Soccer Assassins, Zetech Sparks,
and Kenya Police Bullets.
"We have been working closely with the players
defensively, and that has been the key area," Mazira added.
Against Gideon Starlets, Kayole seek renewed confidence,
momentum, and belief as they fight for revival.
