The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has notified the public of a temporary closure on sections of the Uhuru Highway/Haile Selassie Roundabout to allow for road maintenance.

In a notice issued by KeNHA Director General Eng . Luka Kimeli, the closure is scheduled in phase intervals at off-peak hours (10:00 pm - 5:00 am) from Friday, January 16 to Sunday, January 18.

Specifically, the road sections to be affected are the Upper Hill-bound lanes, Central Business District (CBD) bound lanes, Mombasa-bound lanes and Nakuru-bound lanes.

"This closure is scheduled in phase intervals at off-peak hours. This is to allow for reinstatement of the Tarmac (Asphalt Concrete Layer)," the notice read in part.

KeNHA advised motorists to pursue alternative routes and cooperate with traffic marshals and police officers on site to ease traffic flow.
