In a customer notice dated March 6, 2026, the airline confirmed the suspension of the day's flight, citing directives from airport authorities in the UAE.
"We wish to inform our customers that we have suspended today's (March 6, 2026) repatriation flight to and from Dubai following security guidance from Dubai Airport authorities," the statement read.
The airline did not disclose the specific nature of the security threat but was unequivocal on its rationale for the decision. "The safety of our crew and customers remains our top priority," it stated.
Kenya Airways apologised for the disruption, acknowledging the difficulty the suspension may cause for passengers awaiting travel. "We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience," the airline said.
Affected passengers have been urged to take proactive steps to stay informed. "Customers are advised to check their flight status on kenya-airways.com and ensure their contact details are updated through the Manage Booking option to receive direct updates," the airline said, adding that passengers could also "contact the Kenya-UAE consulate for further information."
The airline assured customers that communication would continue as the situation unfolds. "We will share further updates as soon as we have new information," it read.
