Kenya Power Lighting Company (KPLC) has set aside Sh10 billion for upgrading infrastructure across the country.

Speaking at Kapenguria power sub- station in the north rift, KPLC Managing Director Dr Ben Chumo urged Kenyans to apply for connection and take advantage of a new plan where customers can qualify for a loan of Sh15,000 repayable in six months.

According to Dr Chumo, power outages should be a thing of the past once the ongoing 252 projects are completed.

Chumo said that wooden poles have been destructed by termites and to curb that menace the organisation is working hard to ensure that the poles are replaced with the concrete ones.

He added that currently the company has set aside Sh10 billion for the maintenance of the existing network
