Kenyan tennis sensation Angela Okutoyi will be advancing her career and education outside the country.

Taking to social media on Monday, Okutoyi shared her excitement about joining Auburn University in Alabama, USA.

“Super excited to announce that I will be continuing my tennis career and education at Auburn University! Thanks to my family, coaches, friends and everyone who helped me along the way! #wareagle”, she wrote.

The 18-year-old tennis professional made grabbed headlines in July this year after becoming the first Kenyan to win a Grand Slam match at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships.

She played alongside her Dutch partner Rose Marie Nijkamp with the duo recording a 3-6, 6-4, and 11-9 win at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London.
