Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary nominee Eric Muriithi Muuga has declared that his net worth stands at Ksh.31 million.

Muuga, who made the revelation when appeared before Parliament’s Committee on Appointments for vetting on Friday, is also the youngest CS nominee at just 32 years old.

He stated that his wealth is composed of  investments in farming and land, further responding with a tern ‘No’ when asked by committee member and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed asked whether he has a car.

“My net worth is Ksh.31 million. I come from a region that is engaged in farming so I’ve invested in lands and planted crops like tea, coffee, bananas, miraa,”  said Muuga.

“I have chosen to invest instead of buying a car, to start with,” he told MP Mohamed.

Speaker Moses Wetangula posed to him: “If you’re approved and appointed, and you get into the office, and tomorrow a major contractor in the water sector comes and offers you a car, will you take it?”

The CS noted with an emphatic “No!”
